Sanctuary

From the minute Maddie told me about her self care day every week, I wanted to paint it!! Did I know what self care day meant to her? No! But I knew it was a beautiful gift to herself that more of us should consider for our own lives. A peaceful, down to earth Virgo, this girl knows how to keep her boundaries and her cool. Journaling seems to be a big part of what allows Maddie to hold these attributes through the thick of it…and she sent me posed photos of her routine that made it so hard to choose. Her sanctuary at home is serene, and she channeled that focused energy of inner work so perfectly for the camera. I am so grateful for my inspiration in her, because there will be many more in this style to come- all meant as reminders that self care isn’t all about treat yo’self with a spa day, it’s about taking care of both one’s outer and inner world.
